This elective covers basic concepts on how to make an iMovie. Students in this elective will create iMovies that will include adding Texts, background sound effects, and changing videos to use different filters.

Junk Box Wars is a STEAM inspired class that challenges students to use their imaginations, scientific knowledge, and a box of "junk" to create a variety of devices that perform an assortment of tasks. The projects target technological design standards and incorporate others depending on the project. The Junk Box Wars projects are modeled after the Junkyard Wars TV show that aired on the Learning Channel network.
Speech for Success will work on speech writing and public speaking. Students in this elective will be given a topic to write a speech on and then at the end of the class period, students will give their speech.
Panther Pages is the student-created school newspaper. In this elective, you get the opportunity to participate in all aspects of producing a newspaper. Students and their classmates will work together to conduct interviews, report on events, and share topical information through self-written articles. They will then get the hands-on experience of editing and assembling their writing into a newspaper format of their own design. Finally, the paper will be printed for distribution throughout the school.
This course is a hands-on introduction to the basic programming and operating of Sperho robots. Students will have the opportunity to program Sphero, an app-enabled robot, to learn basic coding skills. They will program their Sperhos to complete mazes and obstacle courses, as well as compete in battle-bots and even paint with the robots. These collaborative STEAM activities will challenge students’ intellects while nurturing their imaginations.
