Spanish instruction in all grades builds upon the language and grammar taught in previous grades. Students are presented with new and more challenging tasks as they move from one grade level to the next. Repitition of key vocabulary and grammar concepts ensures that students will retain the important basic essentials to oral and written communication. Students will be given the opportunity to learn to understand, read, and write basic Spanish words, phrases, sentences.
My overall goal is to teach the students basic Spanish, and to enable them to feel comfortable communicating in class as well as with the Spanish-speaking communities around us. Should they decide to take Spanish as their second language course in High School they will have a solid foundation on which to build.
